Today, it seemed like this long wait would be over for many fans as news circulated on Twitter that a remake would be quickly approaching. The announcement came from an account called “Nibel” that stated Bloodborne remastered was coming to PS5 in August 2022 and PC in Q2 2023. The initial post even gave more detail about how it will come with various enhancements such as 60 FPS, 4K resolution, and ray-traced reflections. Additionally, it said that Bluepoint Games was leading development with Nixxes Software.

Sadly, this post came from a fake account of the popular “Nibellion” account on Twitter, with over 300,000 followers for different video game rumors, news, and updates. And to pour salt on the wound, the link used in the post is of an old 2015 Playstation blog post titled “why you might be playing Bloodborne for a long, long time.”

This fake account was able to pull this off by making their account nearly identical to the original Nibel account but just made the “i” in their name an uppercase. And since Nibellion isn’t verified on Twitter, most people didn’t notice this difference at first. The actual Nibellion account even replied to the fake tweet joking that this news better be real, with the fake one replying, “it is.”

Another reason why it was also able to spread so quickly was that it tricked popular content creators such as Jacksepticeye. Jacksepticeye responded to the tweet with genuine hope for the news, saying that this better be serious since this wasn’t a joking matter. Another popular Twitch streamer named Lirik, with over 2 million followers on Twitch, also replied to the tweet, excited that Bluepoint was leading production.

Unfortunately, for Jacksepticeye and many others, it is only a troll. This isn’t even the first time there has been a fake Bloodborne remastered leak. The original Nibel Twitter account denied any update for Bloodborne, and there is currently no official news about a Bloodborne remake. Hopefully, fans can have their hearts mended with good news soon.

Bloodborne is available now for PS4.
