That’s according to a tweet from renowned Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier. Recently, he responded to someone on Twitter who asked him when he would be leaking information about a supposed upcoming Bloodborne remaster. Schreier simply responded that he could not leak “what doesn’t exist.” This has left people in the comments convinced that there is no such remaster in the works.

While neither developer FromSoftware nor publisher Sony have ever confirmed that the game was being reconditioned, it didn’t stop rumors from flying. Last year, some fans began to believe that a remastered version of Bloodborne was in development and was being helmed by Bluepoint Games, who have worked on such projects as Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and the Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection. While fans may be disappointed about Schreier’s response, it doesn’t mean the game won’t get a remaster at some point, but there are apparently currently no official plans.

As a PS4 exclusive title, many gamers unfortunately missed out on playing Bloodborne. It’s a PlayStation exclusive title that some would like to see come to PC, as well as the PS5. As beloved as the game is and has been since it released in 2015, there are possibly many would-be-fans out there who would relish the opportunity to play one of the previous generation’s most revered FromSoftware releases.

With Elden Ring becoming one of the highest rated games ever, the Soulsborne formula is still proving popular. Some may be disappointed that a Bloodborne remaster doesn’t seem likely, at least not for the foreseeable future. Then again, some may feel that the game is fine as it is and doesn’t need any visual tweaking. In any case, many would probably agree that the game not being available on any other system apart from the PS4 is the developer simply leaving money on the table.

Bloodborne is available now for PS4.
