The series is former Castlevania series producer and director, Koji Igarashi’s, first foray into indie game development. Igarashi is behind many staples of the influential Metroidvania genre, such as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. The Bloodstained games take clear inspiration from Igarashi’s favorite Castlevania game: Dracula’s Curse.
