Epic Games has officially confirmed and IGN has spotted that fan-favorite Star Wars character Boba Fett will be coming to Fortnite next month. The popular Star Wars bounty hunter will be added to the Fortnite item shop on December 24, Christmas Eve, also known as Disney Plus Day. The skin will be added with a bundle and it releases at 7 P. M. EST.

Although Epic Games has confirmed that Boba Fett will be joining the Fortnite roster soon, the image that Epic Games used to promote the skin included another popular character. Sitting on the right armrest of Boba Fett’s throne is Fennec Shand who appeared in The Mandalorian. In the promotional image, Shand held a Fortnite Shield Potion in her lap and a hologram in her right hand.
The addition of Fennec Shand in the Fortnite promotional image showing off Boba Fett may tease something else releasing with the Star Wars skin. The hologram in Shand’s hand could be an Emote that flashes the symbol of Mythosaur when Boba Fett is added to Fortnite as big skins are known for releasing in bundles complete with other Fortnite cosmetics such as Emotes, Harvesting Tools, Back Blings, etc. The Fortnite image of Boba Fett also suggests that the skin will release with a Tusken Raider’s Gaffi Stick Harvesting Tool.
The success of The Mandalorian back in 2019 inspired Epic Games to add the titular character from the Star Wars series during Chapter 2 Season 5 - Zero Point. Among other changes, Fortnite Zero Point added the popular bounty feature to Fortnite that has remained in the battle royale since. Contrary to Boba Fett’s addition to Fortnite, The Mandalorian was a prominent feature of the Season 5 Battle Pass which featured additional armor pieces for the popular Star Wars character.
Other popular Star Wars characters represented in Fortnite by skins include Kylo Ren, Rey, and an Imperial Stormtrooper. Fortnite fans have also previously had access to a Mythic lightsaber melee weapon that came in various colors and caused significant damage. Star Wars Director J. J. Abrams has also appeared in Fortnite during a live event in the past to unveil a clip from one of the films.
Disney is preparing to release Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett on Disney Plus on December 29, making the Fortnite skin release part of the pre-release promotion. It’s currently unclear what additional cosmetics will release with Boba Fett next month, but the promotional image teasing multiple items suggests that he will receive a bundle. Given Star Wars’ regular appearance in Fortnite, this Boba Fett skin may not be the last Star Wars-inspired cosmetic added to Epic Games’ battle royale.
Fortnite is available right now for Android, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
