On September 4, during an organized search for Day, police discovered a body floating close to a bank of the Illinois River, near Peru. On Thursday, the LaSalle County coroner’s office confirmed the body was Day’s. The cause of death is not yet known. Day, 25, was last seen in Bloomington, Illinois, on August 24 on surveillance footage, and he was reported missing the following day, a report filed with the Bloomington police said....

“This critical incident briefing details the investigation up until now concerning today’s active shooter call at Smile Direct Club’s manufacturing facility on Antioch Pk and the subsequent shooting by police of the suspect,” the department wrote in a tweet with the video. As the video begins, several 911 calls the police department received are heard, with witnesses reporting an active shooter at the Smile Direct Club manufacturing warehouse on Antioch Pike....

Earlier this week, the big cat somehow managed to strand itself atop of a utility pole in the Topaz Road neighborhood of El Paso, where it remained for two days, according to KFOX14. Neighborhood residents eventually noticed the animal and notified local authorities as well as the electric company responsible for the pole about its bizarre situation.
