The Blue Jackets on Friday announced they have extended Bobrovsky’s contract four years, worth $29.7 million. With a $7.425 million annual cap hit, Bobrovsky’s new deal is second only to Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist’s ($8.5 million AAV). The 2013 Vezina winner was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of this season. He had been making $5.625 million on his current deal. It’s the second major extension the Blue Jackets have handed out in recent weeks....

Yangervis Solarte hit a game-tying double in the eighth and Justin Smoak followed with a go-ahead double as the Blue Jays rallied to beat the Mariners 5-2 on Wednesday night. The Orange County sheriff’s office confirmed Saget’s death on Twitter on Monday after he was found in the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida on Sunday. “Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,” a statement from the sheriff’s office reads....
